Who is Captain Ocean?
The creator of this site grew up in France near the sea.
His passion for the ocean and travel led him to put his suitcases down in Cape Town, South Africa.
There, he discovered sailing and quickly obtained his skipper's diplomas.
He is developing his marine knowledge in this region of the world renowned for its Cape of Good Hope and for its navigation conditions which are not always obvious!
Later, he will embark on a UNESCO sailboat to carry out scientific research on ocean changes. His missions will then take him to sail from Namibia to the east coast of South Africa down to the famous roaring forties.
At the same time, he enjoys participating in the many regattas organized by the Royal Cape Yacht Club.
His experience of the sea is enriched after spending several years in South East Asia. Being based in Singapore, he regularly attended the Changi Sailing Club and participated in regattas. It was during this period that he took the time to navigate in cruise mode to discover this magnificent region.
Today it shares his knowledge of the marine world on the Captain Ocean site and hopes that they may be useful to many newbies.
